Samsung finally launches the Galaxy Alpha! In the last few weeks the only news surrounding Samsung and their plans was shrouded in next generation Note and Galaxy Alpha news. The rumors and leaks surrounding the Galaxy F now known as the Galaxy Alpha have been circulating the rumor mill for quite some time. Recently details suggested Samsung would be using this Alpha to compete directly with Apple’s iPhone. The premium build and spec sheet pretty much confirms this. While it may be a bit different in the specs department it is as Samsung calls it “the evolution of the Galaxy Design”.

The Galaxy Alpha “redefines” the company’s smart phone design language. First and foremost this Galaxy is constructed of metal! After all these years of complaining, Samsung has finally produced a device made of a premium material other then plastic. While it does not have unibody build as previous rumors implied the Alpha brings a new appearance to the Galaxy line up that “focuses on both beauty and functionality” according to Samsung’s JK Shin. So we see its excellent build, but what does it have in store for us? The Alpha starts with a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED touch screen that offers up a 1280×720 resolution at 312 pixels per inch. Underneath the hood the Alpha starts with an Exynos Octa core chipset, which is ultimately a dual quad-core chip. This gives us a quad core processor that clocks in a 1.8 GHz and a quad core processor that clocks in at 1.3 Ghz. Engadget also reports a variant of the Alpha will ship with a Snapdragon 801 chipset that uses a quad-core processor that clocks in at 2.5 GHz. Additionally it will come packing 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and a lack of expandable memory. Around back the Alpha houses a 12 mega pixel camera with LED flash. The Alpha runs with Android version 4.4.4 and comes with 4G LTE connectivity as well as Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, NFC, a finger print scanner and a heart rate monitor. Pricing on the device is still missing in action however it is expected to go up for sale sometime in September. The handset will be available in black, white, blue, gold or silver.

So the Alpha cat is finally out of the bag. Are you interested? Sound off in the comments section below and let us know what you think and remember no matter which Galaxy you choose, we have all the best in Samsung accessories here.
